The term coordinated border management (CBM) refers to a new approach to cooperation between border control agencies, both at the national and international levels, in the context of the search for greater efficiency in border management. managing trade and travel flows while maintaining a balance with compliance requirements.

CBM can help deliver public services more efficiently, with less duplication, cost-effectiveness through economies of scale, enhanced risk management with minimal but effective interventions, and transportation costs.
