In order to support Customs of member countries to overcome difficulties in the field of revenue collection, the World Customs Organization - WCO has started the second phase of the Action Plan of the Budget Collection Package from June 2013. In June 2015, a training workshop related to this package was held in China.

The training course was organized by WCO in cooperation with China Customs and the Asia-Pacific Regional Capacity Building Office from June 1 to 5, 2015. The purpose is to improve the capacity of Customs of Asia - Pacific countries in implementing measures to enhance collection activities according to the Action Plan of the Phase 2 Budget Collection Package.

Through the workshop, a group of regional experts will be developed who can perform diagnostic tasks in the areas of valuation, classification and origin.

After surveying the skills of regional customs forces, WCO selected 20 customs officers from 14 Asia-Pacific countries to participate.

At the workshop, participants were introduced to new tools applied in phase 2 of the Revenue Package. Delegates also participated in discussing the technical issues of these new tools.

At the end of the workshop, a number of officials were recognized to have the necessary skills and competencies to perform diagnostic tasks in the areas of valuation, classification and origin. This team of experts will be used by the WCO to meet the technical assistance and capacity-building needs of Customs of member countries in the Asia-Pacific region in the areas of training.

Previously, the Action Plan of the Budget Collection Package was implemented in phase 1 from June 2012.
